AWS DevOps Engineer / Architect – Outside IR35

Senior AWS DevOps Architect / Engineer – Gaming – £600 – £700 Per Day / Outside IR35 – 6 Months Initially – Watford with Remote Working

Overview:
Our client, a leading marketing and technology company who are working heavily in the Online gambling space are looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Architect / Engineer to join their team based in Watford.

They have recently embarked upon a new technology transformation programme as part of which they are building a brand-new Gaming Platform from ground up in AWS working closely in partnership with AWS’s infrastructure specialist and Solution Architecture team.

You will be responsible for:
• Leading the design of the new Gaming Platform’s infrastructure architecture, collaborating effectively with internal engineering and external partner teams to make it elastically scalable and reliable.
• Building the automation to remove TOIL across our system lifecycle of Build, Release, Manage, and Monitor for the web apps, mobile apps and backend services developed by engineering teams.
• Work closely with development teams to provide effective and actionable feedback that maintains high quality and improves development practices that drive operational improvements in production.
• Foster a DevOps culture by sharing knowledge of systems and expertise within AWS Cloud technologies, infrastructure, and operational best practices with the engineering teams.
• Understanding business requirements, propose reference architectures, and possible technology solutions and turning high-level design decisions from team into reality.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure high availability and scalability with minimal impact on customer and colleague’s experience.

Technical Experience Required:
• CI/CD pipelines like Gitlab and BitBucket
• Building Cloud-native and Serverless architectures
• Metrics/Monitoring/Alarming
• Terraform/Cloudformation or similar.
• Modern deployment patterns like Canary / Blue Green
• Database management: MySQL, Postgres and MemoryDB
• TypeScript, NodeJS, React/React-native app / service tech-stack.
• AWS experience
• Ansible/Chef/Puppet or similar
• Git (or similar)
• Docker
• Scripting

Rate / Duration:
•£600 – £700 Per Day
• Outside IR35
• 6 months initial contract
